I was 22/23, I had just moved into a new place with a couple of friends and had only been living there for maybe a month when I get this package in the post.
The package contained a case file on a serial killer who was picking out victims with my name! For a second I was panicked, then I saw that it was stamped with the channel 5 logo. Then I wondered how the hell they had my details, because I had never been on the website and I hadn't ever watched the other CSI's before either. And I had only just moved in!
Lol, it freaked me out, but i though it was absolute genuis and thought the PR/Marketing person behind it should get a prize.
Did anyone else get one of the promotional packs?

No...I live in the US, but I agree that's absolute marketing genius on channel 5's part. If it had been over here, though, you can guarantee some nimrod would have filed a frivolous lawsuit over "emotional distress" or "invasion of privacy".

i think the marketing company got a telling off because some people were fooled by the genius of it and spent a day being terrified or something. then when they realised they complained...spoil sports i say!
I still have it somewhere actually.

Since I live in boring Holland the answer would be no. The channel here sucks pretty much at promo.
Altho when they released the stealcase of Grave Danger they putted the episode 'Blink' on it, but that has been a while ago.

Oooo. I saw one of these advertised on e-bay last night. It's like a promotional case file which is compiled by Mac. It looked quite good and I was actually thinking of buying it - however it's no longer listed so I'm assuming that the only bidder won it.
Apparently they banned them or something, probably because it was scaring people, but it must have been a random mailing, cause I never recieved anything like that. _________________  |

I never received it either and i have been on Channel Five website and emailed them last year asking them when they were planning on showing us CSI:NY Season 3!!! They obviously didnt like me!! lol

Yeh, they were sent out a month or two before season one aired over here.
I think they sent out about 5,000 random mailings, probably more.
I have mine packed up in storage I think. I just didn't want to throw it out because it was brilliant. I lost the fabric sample though I think.
